Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

Stratigraphic boundaries of the suite are unknown.

Upper contact

Stratigraphic boundaries of the suite are unknown. According to Ya.B. Aysanov et al. (1984), it is conformably overlain by the Koksay Fm. But, according to Z.M. Abdouazimova et al. (1985), the Khodzhaakhmet Fm has no stratigraphic contacts and is a metamorphosed analogue of the Koksay Fm

Regional extent

Central Kyzylkum, Altyntau, Kaskyrtau, Turbay, northern slope of Kokpatas, in the form of narrow tectonic blocks. It is correlated with the Kansay Fm and Kurgantau Fm.

Age

The age is determined conditionally by its position in the section, lying above Riphean deposits. According to Ya.B. Aysanov et al. (1984), the age of the suite is conditionally Proterozoic-early Paleozoic. A.K. Bukharin et al. (1990) and S.Ya. Lapidus (460) consider the Khodzhaakhmet Fm as the upper sub-suite of the Kokpatas Fm; A.K. Bukharin et al. consider it as middle Ordovician, while S.Ya. Lapidus considers it as upper Riphean. In the monograph (165), the age is conditionally established as Vendian; on the State Geol Map-500 of Uzbekistan (460), it is also conditionally referred to the Vendian with stratigraphically conformable contacts.
